They started in the beginning of '90s calling the band HOMO SAPIENS.

The four-member Athenian band gave many concerts mainly in small but cozy stages. At the same time they release a single in 1995 titled "PICTURES FROM AN ADMIRABLE WORLD", one cd in 1997 titled "DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES" and participate in many compilations.

Their sound in the beginning was quite harsh with influences from '70s rock and funk. They matured in time by adding many new contemporary sounds.

In 1998 they change their name from HOMO SAPIENS to DROPS OF SMOKE. They record with the same 4 stable members their latest to date record titled " I SAW" which was released at the end of 1999.
